Cycling from Niš to Banjica, a peaceful riverside spot near Ostrovica

I’ve been biking a lot last year, and one of the spots I really liked was this small riverside area near the village of Ostrovica called Banjica. It’s about 25 kilometers from Niš, so not too far and perfect for a half-day trip. I followed the road that runs along the Nišava River, and the ride itself was really enjoyable especially as you get closer to the Sićevo Gorge. What I loved about Banjica is how peaceful it is. It’s not crowded, there are no shops or anything commercial, just nature. I stopped there to relax and refresh myself in the shade of the trees, with the river right next to me. I even took off my shoes and dipped my feet in the water for a bit. It was super quiet, just the sound of the river and birds. I had some snacks, sat by the water, and just enjoyed the break.
