Discovering Kusača Viewpoint Above Sićevo Gorge

One sunny October morning, my brother, a friend, and I decided to take a break from the city buzz and hike up to the Kusača viewpoint. It’s not far from Niš,about 15 kilometers southeast, and we had heard it offers one of the best panoramic views in the region. We packed a few snacks and set off for Kunovica, the small village that marks the beginning of the trail. The hike itself wasn’t too difficult; it took us about an hour to reach the top, and the higher we got, the more rewarding the views became, so we kept stopping along the way to take in the scenery. When we arrived, in the distance we could see the peaks of Suva Planina, Svrljig Mountains, Jastrebac, and even the Kalafat range. I think this is a stunning viewpoint, and it definitely stands out as one of the most accessible and rewarding vantage points over the Sićevo Gorge region.
